Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool is transmitted directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its result; we neither log nor retain those search terms on our systems.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email sent to us is retained so that we can respond. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the server automatically receives certain technical information:
- Page-view timestamps
- Your device’s IP address
- Browser name and version
- Operating system and device category
- Pages viewed and time spent on them
- The referring website, when available
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small device files that help show aggregate visit patterns, including popular pages and exit points. Analytics providers assist with that measurement. A browser can block cookies, although doing so may change how parts of the website work.
What We Do With This Data
- Operating the website and maintaining performance
- Routing a query to the appropriate search partner
- Measuring which content visitors use
- Diagnosing and repairing technical problems
- Displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not maintain, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. The site publishes general directions to Iberia Parish custodians, including IPSO, the courts, Louisiana State Police BCII-LCJIS, and the Louisiana State Sex Offender and Child Predator Registry. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor information is not compiled into consumer reports or third-party criminal files.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Their privacy policies govern submitted queries, and they control their own retention and disclosure practices. Review the applicable partner policy before using a tool.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to a sheriff, court, state agency, legal-aid organization, or outside search service. After leaving this site, the destination’s privacy policy applies. Review it before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may use their own systems to follow activity across websites for targeted advertising.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Information may be disclosed to:
- Search providers processing a submitted query
- Analytics providers measuring traffic and performance
- Advertising networks serving ads
- Government or law-enforcement bodies when a valid legal order compels disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
Standard security measures are used to protect collected data. No internet-connected system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that a minor provided such data, we will delete it promptly.
Your Data Rights
Rights may vary by residence and applicable law. Louisiana Public Records Law, Title 44, including R.S. 44:1 and 44:31, governs access to qualifying government records; it does not turn this private site into a government custodian. Subject to applicable law, you may:
- Request access to information held about you
- Ask that inaccurate information be corrected
- Request deletion of your data
- Opt out of certain processing where the law permits
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised. Any revision will appear here with a changed effective date, so visitors should review the page periodically.
